Job Overview:

The Landscape Lead is responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of landscaping for various facilities and residential sites, and for providing leadership and training for the groundskeeping staff.

Job Description:

  • Completethe design and layout of landscape construction projects

  • Researchopportunities for outsourcing labor and services and request bids from outsidecontractors. Initiate contracts andsupervise contractors to perform work on the premises, while following corporatecontracting requirements and company policies.

  • Planprojects and requisition materials

  • Supervise,schedule and technically assist reporting employees

  • Complywith corporate safety policies and enforce these policies with staff andcontractors

  • Coordinatewith other areas to prepare the grounds and reserve parking for special events

  • Inspectproperties on a regular basis and schedule needed maintenance and repairs to becompleted in a timely manner

  • Maintainthe irrigation system and replace defective sprinkler heads

  • Inspectgrounds vehicles and schedule repairs to keep them in safe operating conditionat all times

  • Inspectgrounds equipment and power tools, perform basic maintenance as instructed, andarrange for repair/replacement to keep the equipment/tools in safe operatingcondition at all times

  • Installand maintain retaining walls

  • Prepare,install and maintain plantings

  • Performsnow removal, including shoveling, plowing, salting and sanding

  • Completeall types of general facilities landscape maintenance, repair and construction

  • Applyfertilizers, pesticides and herbicides

  • Completelawn installation, care and maintenance

  • Pickup litter and empty waste receptacles

  • Maintainsports complex

  • Performother duties, as assigned


  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum 2 year degree in landscaping,horticulture or minimum 5 years in landscape construction or relatedfield

  • Must have experience operating back hoe,trencher, forklift, SkyTrak, power buggy, boom and platform lifts, surveyequipment, skid loader, front end loader, mowers, trimmers, and othermiscellaneous power tools and hand tools.

  • Valid driver license

  • Must have good people skills and be capable of directing crews

  • Must have good oral, reading and math skills for effective communication

  • Must be capable of reading and understanding landscapeconstruction layouts and blueprints

  • Must be capable of calculating and completing material take offsfor purchasing requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable of planting materials, and of regionalplants such as annuals, perennials, ground covers, trees and shrubs

  • Must have the ability to bend, stoop, reach andclimb ladders up to 20 feet in height

  • Must be able to lift, carry and transport up to50 pounds

  • Work 40 hours per week with overtime whenrequired

  • Bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, walk and stand forprolonged periods of time

  • Work in any kind of weather conditions native tothe site
